In 2015, a YouTube Red member asked why he’s still seeing ads in YouTube. YouTube Red is a paid streaming subscription service exclusively for YouTube. It provides advertising-free streaming of all videos hosted by YouTube.
Despite this being the case, YouTube was still showing ads to paying customers all the way up until September 20th, 2017. They were showing ads for 2 years since the service began and didn’t compensate any paying customers. It wasn’t until MANY angered customers took to Reddit voicing their concerns that Google finally took action.
You should no longer see ads in YouTube red.
Isn’t that what we paid for originally? Sheeesh.
