Dear Rick and Morty fans… McDonald’s shipped 20M Szechuan sauce packets this month

McDonald’s announced the return of their Szechuan Sauce by making an entire website dedicated to the Rick and Morty fandom. As stated in a blog post, “We’ve worked every day since October to bring back much, much, more of the sauce our fans have been craving. And we’re excited to announce that starting Monday, February 26, 20 million packets of Szechuan Sauce will be available across all US McDonald’s restaurants with a qualifying purchase, while supplies last (which this time around, we hope is a while).”
The infamous Szechuan sauce is 20-years old and was first issued as part of a tie-in with Disney’s 1998 animated movie Mulan. Although Rick and Morty popularized the sauce, once again, thanks to their elaborate jokes; in the 3rd season of Rick and Morty, the sauce was only mentioned once. I guess McDonald’s didn’t pay out for the free marketing, but that’s just me being a skeptic. Go buy the sauce on February 26th!
