SmallWorlds is closing down on April 8th, 2018
[wpsm_dropcap]R[/wpsm_dropcap]emember SmallWorlds.com? SmallWorlds is a virtual world created in 2008. SmallWorlds was able to last 10 years which is a lifetime in gaming. SmallWorlds made an announcement of the closure on their official blog.
According to the blog post, SmallWorlds & MiniMundos player-base has been shriking since 2015. SmallWorlds has already been downsizing in order to continue operating costs, but could no longer afford it whatsoever. As written in the blog post, “Unfortunately, we’ve come to the end of the road and we’re absolutely heartbroken. Each month our servers cost us a lot of money to keep running, and we have reached the stage where we can no longer afford to keep them online.”
This doesn’t come to a surprise after Club Penguin closed down in 2017. Meez.com also shutdown their web app in 2018 without making an announcement at all. Meez.com’s domain actually expired altogether.
SmallWorlds will be shutting down at 11:59PM on the 8th of April 2018 SWT. Click here to check the date and time in your time zone.
Apparently, in the next few weeks; if you sign into SmallWorlds, you will have the opportunity to enjoy different events.
I played SmallWorlds for about a couple months; doing an entire 25 video series on the game in 2015. You can view my playlist here. In my time, on SmallWorlds, I noticed the game downsized quite a bit. Not many people were playing anymore; and those who were left were extremely toxic trolls. We call them “no-lifers” who have nothing better to do but sit on the computer and be miserable. SmallWorlds will be missed, but it’s totally understandable because of their community and revenue.
Thank you SmallWorlds and best of luck to you all in the near future. Until then, go play ourWorld. ourWorld.com still exists.
Literally proved your point. No weapons for you lot.
