Kanye West and Jay-Z’s relationship beef from disses to money disputes involving Tidal
[wpsm_dropcap]T[/wpsm_dropcap]idal is a music streaming service launched in 2014 by Jay-Z. Kanye joined Tidal the moment Jay-Z relaunched its service, and Kanye’s album titled The Life of Pablo was one of the streaming music service’s largest exclusives. Now Kanye West is leaving over money disputes even though Kanye West owns 3.5% of the company.
Tidal allegedly owes Kanye over $3 million for both the performance of Life of Pablo (it reportedly helped obtain 1.5 million new subscribers) and producing music videos. The two sides tried to negotiate a truce but talks are believed to have broken down two weeks ago.
Jay-Z claims he gave Kanye West $20 million for a 20 minute performance. And according to TMZ, Jay-Z was upset at Kanye for going on a rant about him during a concert. This happened 2 days before Kanye West was admitted into a psych ward. Here’s the video in case anyone has forgotten:
Jay-Z, apparently, references Kanye West in his new album 4:44:
You dropped outta school, you lost your principles
I know people backstab you, I felt bad too
But this ‘fuck everybody’ attitude ain’t natural
But you ain’t a Saint, this ain’t KumbaYe
But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye
You gave him 20 million without blinkin’
He gave you 20 minutes on stage, fuck was he thinkin’?
“Fuck wrong with everybody?” is what you sayin’
But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane
Kim Kardashian is mad at Jay-Z for calling Kanye West “insane.” However, Jay-Z feels like their relationship has always been on edge. Their history dates all the way back to Kanye West’s album Graduation to a song titled “Big Brother“. In the song, Kanye speaks on how he is grateful to have had Jay-Z give him a chance. But since then, it seems Kanye’s idol has turned more into a rivalry.
